SEA's Holiday Upcycle
Event description
Join us for SEA's upcycled holiday event this year
Talk social and engage with other creative social entrepreneurs, while making fabulous 'No Sew Wreaths' that reimagines old garden hoses, tyres and clothes into colourful Christmas wreaths.
The workshop will be led and facilitated by Ger Tew, the founder of The ReCreators. The Recreators is a Social Enterprise that promotes upcycling either through purchasing products pre-made, custom-made or by learning to do it yourself (DIY) through workshops.
We are also inviting a few social enterprises from our Buy Social Marketplace, and you will get the opportunity to buy social goods that support the community this year.
Book your ticket now!
For more information on the event or if you are a social enterprise looking to display/sell products and services at this event, please write to sathya@socialenterpriseauckland.org.nz.
About the facilitator
Ger is the founder of The ReCreators which is an enviro/social enterprise that combines her passions for the environment, human rights and creative entrepreneurship by leading an upcycling collective. She also works for Social Enterprise Auckland in a bid to promote environmental and social wellbeing outcomes in a business setting.
The ReCreators promotes sustainable upcycling by providing communities with skills through a wide variety of creative workshops which are delivered in schools and community centres. The ReCreators also host a small online shop selling repurposed goods.
Ger's background has been working for the government in refugee and human rights matters, Auckland Council on environmental compliance and in the corporate sector for PWC. The ReCreators is her new entrepreneurial venture. She believes that working collaboratively with NGO’s, government and corporates brings the best results and is enthused to bring this Upcycle Collective to a New Zealand audience.
Ger Tew hails from Dublin, Ireland and moved to New Zealand in 2001.
