Seasonal Pruning & Tree Training Workshop

This workshop is designed to support gardeners develop their growing spaces into healthy and productive landscapes.
Starting out in a young orchard setting the following methods will be introduced through practical demonstrations:
- Fruit Trees Pruning & Training
Pruning techniques for citrus, stone fruit, pip fruit, nuts, olives & recommendations for sub tropical fruits. - Perennial Weed Management Strategies
Discover edible and non-edible species that outcompete invasive weeds and processing methods for mineral extraction. - Shelterbelts & Guilds
Functional support species for biomass, fodder, nutrient supply, shelter, improved pollination & disease prevention. - Tool Selection & Maintenance
Quality, hygiene and care. - Water Collection & Conservation
Making use of water in the landscape.
Your facilitator, Judy Keats (Regenerative Permaculture Practitioner) has 12 years growing experience across multiple sites, both in community gardens and urban farms in Auckland. Judy teaches a varied workshop programme, offers private consultations and coaches individuals in their own gardens.
A simple wholesome vegan lunch will be provided with gluten free options.
Please wear comfortable clothing, study shoes and a hat and bring a water bottle & secateurs if you have them.
Rescheduled workshop date is 2 June if rain prevents the workshop going ahead as planned.
