Musical Soirée at the Elegant, Historic, Private Home: Toonarbin in June

Room to Read is delighted to present its second Musical Soirée at Toonarbin - a sincere thank you once again to the owners of this magnificent historic house. Hear talented pianists perform on an 1894 Steinway grand piano and enjoy a traditionally costumed Beijing opera singer presenting an excerpt in the elegant formal rooms. Listen to the fascinating story of the piano's journey from Florence to Brisbane as well as the drama of restoring a dilapidated former convent to its former glory as a stately home. After the music, relax with refreshments on the terrace overlooking the grand sweep towards the Brisbane River.
