Youth Mob is now in its second year and is a youth network for Aboriginal people aged 14-24 living in southern Tasmania. The two-year pilot program is autonomous, and youth led.Â

Murrayfield Camp, Bruny Island
Pack your gear for two nights, join an Aboriginal Elder & Aboriginal Facilitators, explore country, learn men’s and women’s business, hunt and cook bush tucker and much more. The Shearer’s Quarters at Murrayfield are booked!
Murrayfield has over 500 cultural sites and was originally the home of Truganini and her people the Nuenonne. Murrayfield is a sheep station and recently independent control was given to local Aboriginal group Weetapoona Aboriginal Corporation.Â
Youth Mob members need to bring all camping gear (e.g. sleeping bag/pillow, including wetsuits/bathers/towel/snorkelling gear, sunscreen/sunhat/beanie, raincoat, and appropriate camping clothes). Elder Uncle Rodney Dillon along with his son Luke and daughter Bron of wayti Culture and Knowledge will host us on their lands for the camp.
Meet at the car park on Channel Highway next to the Kettering Oval, before you turn into Ferry Road on Friday at 2pm. Pick up from same place Sunday 4pm. If you need a lift we can accommodate, please let us know. Â

Non-Aboriginal people are welcome if they are supporting a young First Nations person. Note that 14-24 year-olds who identify as First Nations will be given preference.
