Secure Escape Workshop - Wax Resist Techniques

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Over the past year, Elspeth and Emma’s works have primarily focused on the greenware stage of ceramics, due to the lack of accessibility of kilns during lockdown as well as being new to ceramics. As young students, they have found entry to the practice both expensive and challenging, discovering that following through on the glaze and firing processes were more demanding than the initial building of the clay vessels. These workshops will allow the artists to share what they've learnt over the past year and provide an introduction to ceramics where participants can make a small, functional vessel to take home.

Participants will learn hand building coil techniques as well as experimenting with wax resist mediums . All works made will be fired, clear glazed and fired again; the same processes the artists used for their work featured in ‘Secure Escape’. These workshops are open to all people of all ages and abilities, but places will be limited.

*Children must be accompanied by an adult*

This event is now happening on the 2nd of April.
