See, Observe and Draw 1

Session 1 of Three workshops to liberate your drawings and learn to draw with greater confidence in black and white.  Experiment with art materials provided by the tutor to find out what you like before you spend a small fortune. Take some first steps towards developing your own style. Each session will include group review – a very important part of improving your art. Cost is $45 for each session and includes a beverage of your choice. Venue has lunch options available for purchase.

Session 1 – Blind Contour

Opening exercise – draw a face, sign and date it.

Drawing beautiful lines – 3 exercises that you can use any time. Draw a still life or two.

Experiment with lines to draw flowers. Experiment with other art materials.

Materials to be provided by students:

Pack of calligraphy pens

Permanent pens, 0.5mm and a brush pen in black

Water soluble graphite stick.

Spray bottle.(I use the ones Specsavers give me, you could recycle one from home)

Sketchbook with 110gsm paper as a minimum, A4 or A3.

Also bring random stuff from around the house – Sharpie pens, ballpoint pens in different colour, crayons, your kid’s art materials.
