See Where You Are: somatics & contemplative photography
Event description
See Where You Are - three online sessions in a somatic approach to contemplative photography
Sundays 8-10am Melbourne time (AEST)
18 MAY - 15 JUNE - 6 JULY
Contemplative photography supports fresh seeing and finds beauty in places you might normally overlook! It's a fun and accessible practice that you can do anywhere. You can use the camera on your phone, or whatever is easiest for you.
As a somatic approach, these classes centre touch, movement and kinaesthetic 'felt-sense' as foundations for vision and clear seeing.
No previous experience or fancy equipment required!
We begin with a guided movement meditation which sets the theme for practice. Then you'll have 45 minutes to take your camera for a walk - around your home or local neighbourhood and explore the theme. We re-gather, upload images to an easy photo sharing site, and have the last half hour to reflect on our images and on the experience. Each session is stand-alone and will explore a different theme.
