Event description

Permaculture Blue Mountains Network is eXciTeD to invite you to our next fun gathering to sample 'Seed Dating'
A  version of 'Speed Dating', where you can learn a little about a lot and get answers to your questions from some of our local experts.

Cultivating mushrooms with Alex, co-founder of Earthrising Mushrooms - learn everything you ever wanted to know about the medicinal qualities of mushrooms and mushrooms as an alternative and dependable food source.

Beekeeping with professional bee-keeper, Fiona Hasselman with the emergence of varroa mite in 2022, how does that affect the pollination of our flowering plants and crops we depend on for food. Find out how much we rely on our bees and other pollinators and what we can do to support them.

Redesigning our Communities with social ecologist, environmental activist and film maker, Gary Caganoff - if renewables and recycling isn't enough, how do we create a whole systems change. How do we design our towns and villages so as not to rely solely on our overstretched and underfunded emergency services as the first line of defence when faced with bushfire. How do we build a supportive and resilient society.

Biochar with Noni McDevitt - explore the wonders of biochar and how it offers gardeners and growers so many benefits.

Safeguarding Tomorrow's Harvest with the founder of Farm it Forward, Emmanuela Prigioni (Manu) - find out why collecting seeds is vital for securing our food future and what is food sovereignty all about.

Sustainable Growing with Jed Walker - do you ever wonder about the terminology being bandied around. Jed will unravel the differences between syntropic farming, permaculture, agroforestry, regenerative, wholistic, biodynamics, regrarian, urban farming, biological farming, organic farming, agroecology, permaculture.
