Seed Library Launch
Description
Goulburn Mulwaree Library is excited to launch a Seed Library in collaboration with Goulburn Mulwaree Landcare Landscapes. Please join us to celebrate this amazing new resource for our community! We will be entertained by the marvelous musical sensation of The Vegetable Plot and their funky, fresh tunes, planting seeds of inspiration, and serving up a big wriggling heap of truly rotten jokes. Following the official launch, participants can choose to stay for an expert talk about seed saving or branch off to the Children's Room for some fun gardening crafts for kids! Guests will be in the running for lucky door prizes and can browse our gardening book display. Light afternoon tea refreshments will be available following the launch.

Seed Library official launch and live performance
We will kick off our event with a quick introduction, followed by a live musical performance by The Vegetable Plot! After the show will be our official opening of the new Seed Library with ribbon cutting, lucky door prizes, and afternoon tea to celebrate. There will also be time to browse our display of gardening books, choose a packet of seeds to take home, or donate seeds of your own!

OPTION A: Kids craft
Join us in the children's room for a fun gardening-themed craft, suitable for kids aged 3-12. The Vegetable Plot will also be selling signed copies of their Season 3 album book (winner of song and album of the year at the 2025 Australian Children's Music Awards). Please note: supervising adults are required to stay during the craft session.

OPTION B: Seed saving masterclass
Local seed harvesting experts from Goulburn Mulwaree Landcare Landscapes will present an information session on how to collect and save seeds of your own throughout the year to use for replanting or to help replenish the Seed Library!

The Vegetable Plot
The veggies are coming to Goulburn Library with signed copies of their Season 3 album book, winner of song and album of the year at the 2025 Australian Children's Music Awards. Beloved Aussie kids band The Vegetable Plot first sprouted at the 2014 Sydney Fringe, winning the award for Best Children’s Show. Since then, Aspara Gus and his good buds have travelled all over Australia, playing their funky-fresh tunes, planting seeds of inspiration, and serving up a big wriggling heap of truly rotten jokes. Now part of the ABC Kids family, with listeners all over the world, multiple international awards, 2 ARIA nominations, 2 theatre shows, an orchestra show, an animated YouTube series, and millions of Spotify streams to their name, The Vegetable Plot has grown into that rare thing: a “kids band” that adults enjoy listening to just as much as the kids.

Goulburn Mulwaree Landcare Landscapes (GMLL) has a vision to partner with all local Landcare and community groups that are caring for their urban and rural landscapes in the district. GMLL has a special interest in the improvement of agricultural sustainability using regenerative and resilient farming methods, and we encourage all landholders and residents of the Goulburn Mulwaree Shire to engage with us so that you may enjoy our events in the company of others with similar interests in the environment, wildlife and healthy landscapes. GMLL is proud to partner with Goulburn Mulwaree Library to establish a community Seed Library.
