Seed Sowing at the Tuakau Museum
Event description
A gathering for Tuakau locals and anyone interested in learning more about organic gardening
Want to grow a sunflower from seed this year? Come and learn how to make your own seed raising mix, and plant one of the museum sunflowers to grow at home. You can also have a look through the museum and see what each of the volunteers is working on. It's a really interesting place!
We'll start the seed sowing at 10am and finish up by 11am. The museum is open from 9am-12pm on Thursdays, so you can arrive early or stay late, and have a look inside.
Any questions? Please email me at katrina@blueborage.co.nz
What to bring:
- I'll have lots of little pots, soil and seeds, but if you are driving to the museum then it would be good to have something to keep your car tidy - maybe a small box or basket to hold your baby sunflower.
- Please wear covered shoes if you want to see the pollinator garden as there is some broken glass in amongst the soil.
- Sunhat, water bottle, and please remember to put on some sunscreen in the morning.
- We probably won't go ahead if there's heavy rain - I'll send an email and text on the morning if we need to postpone.
