Seitan Making Workshop with Gabrielle
Event description
Seitan 101
Do you want to throw a sausage on the barbie or a slice of roast beef but you are cutting down on eating animal products? Why not try a seitan sausauge or roast beaf instead? Seitan is a food made from wheat gluten used similar to tofu. It is often used as a meat substitute in vegetarian and some Asian cultures.
Join us and learn:
-what seitan is and where it comes from
-how to put the ingredients together to make sausauges (hands on)
-how to use the seitan in other dishes
You will also watch a demo on making the roast beaf from scratch. This roast will be raffled off at the end to take home.
You will have a picnic in the beautiful garden of Perth City Farm, enjoying a taste of the sausauges on a bun with either mustard, onions and or gravy.
Take home your goodies and surprise your friends or family with your tasty creations.
Not workshop is not suitable for participants with a gluten intolerance or coeliac disease.
Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
