SEJA 'Here is One I Know You Know' Album Launch

Join us for an evening of synth-pop and captivating melodies at the album launch of Seja Vogel's third creation, "Here is One I Know You Know." The event will take place on Friday, 13th October 2023, at the enigmatic 'It's Still A Secret.'

Seja Vogel, a devoted artist with a 20-year passion for analogue and synthesizers, presents an album that showcases a leap in production and heartfelt dedication to her cherished instruments. Recorded expertly in her home studio in Brisbane, the album features a collection of squelchy synths, drum machines, and computer bongos, complemented by her signature mellifluous vocals.

For this special night, Seja will be performing with an all-girl band featuring Jen Boyce (Ballpark Music) on Bass, Pascale Burton (The Stress of Leisure) on Keys, and Jessica Moore (The Stress of Leisure) on drums.

"Here is One I Know You Know" reflects the broad influence of an artist deeply in love with her craft, exhibiting an appreciation for synthetic music history and a talent for sparkling pop songwriting. The album's production spans various styles, from swirling celestial dreampop and 90s neo-psych to pulsating psychedelic krautrock funk and dark, 80s-inspired soundscapes, all shaped by Seja's personal and delightful songcraft.

Inspired by Harmonia, Brian Eno, and Yellow Magic Orchestra, Seja approaches her lyrics with heartfelt sincerity, ensuring that her emotions shine through without masking them behind metaphors.

On "Here is One I Know You Know," Seja predominantly utilized hardware and wonky gear, resulting in a unique and beautifully flawed creation. She took on multiple roles, handling vocals, various synthesizers, guitars, bass, omnichord, rhodes piano, drum machines, programming, and sequencing.

Sharing the stage with Seja for this event will be the supporting talents of Hotmagnets and Gold Stars.
