Self-care for Writers
Event description
Writing can be a challenging profession at the best of times. By nature it is often solitary, with long lead times between starting and finishing a project. Many writers exist with extreme income precarity, or combine writing with other paid work to make ends meet, which can lead to a sense of never having enough time to devote to the practice of writing. And as creatives we can often be extraordinarily tough on ourselves, with a well-developed inner critic that castigates us for not doing more or achieving more.
So what's the alternative? Join creative coach Clare Travis for this practical and impactful workshop on self-care for writers, that will plant the seeds for a kinder approach which reconnects you with your motivation for writing, helps you to access self-compassion and enables you to move forward in challenging times.
You'll come away with thought-provoking ideas to consider and practical strategies to give you more confidence in navigating the challenges of your creative career. You'll learn about coaching tools and approaches to help you move forward by prioritising connection, compassion, curiosity and clarity.
What's included:
- impactful content and guided activities to help you reconnect with your motivation for writing, access self-compassion and move forward during challenging times;
- group discussion;
- useful worksheets for future reference; and
- a powerful framework to enable you to continue to practise self-care beyond the workshop.
