Self Manager Hub Workshop – SCHADS Award changes for people who directly employ support workers

If you directly employ your support workers, important changes are coming to the SCHADS Award. 

Join Self Manager Hub and Matthew Zammit, Industrial Relations Lead at National Disability Services, to understand what is changing and how to prepare as a direct employer. 

We will cover 

• pay changes for workers covered by Schedule E from 1 December 2026 

• the new classification structure from 1 October 2027 

• what the changes may mean for your workers, employment costs and NDIS budget 

• what to check and prepare for now 

• the latest position on 24-hour care arrangements 

• your questions.

NDIS participants who directly employ support workers, nominees and family members involved in direct employment, and people considering directly employing their workers.

Matthew will ask attendees a few questions at the start, explain the changes, and allow time for discussion. You can also submit a question when you register so he can consider it before the workshop.

Matthew Zammit is the Industrial Relations Lead at National Disability Services. He will explain the Award changes with a focus on what they mean for people directly employing support workers.
