SEMI-FINALS | 2026 Lewis Eady National Junior Piano Competition

2026 Lewis Eady National Junior Piano Competition – Semi-Finals

Experience the future of New Zealand piano performance at the Semi-Finals of the 2026 Lewis Eady National Junior Piano Competition.

This prestigious national competition provides New Zealand’s most promising young pianists with the opportunity to showcase their talent and compete at the highest level. Open to students currently attending intermediate and secondary school, the competition highlights the next generation of outstanding musical talent.

Following a recorded audition round assessed by a Preliminary Adjudicator, 15 competitors have been selected to advance to the live competition stage.

During the Semi-Finals, each pianist presents a recital programme of up to 20 minutes, featuring works from at least three different musical periods. These carefully curated programmes demonstrate the competitors’ technical skill, musical maturity, versatility, and breadth of repertoire.

At the conclusion of the Semi-Finals, six competitors will be selected to advance to the Grand Final, where they will compete for national honours and the opportunity to be recognised among New Zealand’s leading young pianists.

Join us to hear exceptional performances from some of the country’s most talented young musicians as they compete for a place in the Grand Final.
