Sender began in 1995 when a group of friends at Eaglehawk Secondary College formed Zenyth. The band initially wrote a range of genres before gradually evolving into the heavy, melodic rock style they became known for. Their rise included winning the Victorian State Final of the Commonwealth Youth Affairs National Battle Of The Bands in 1999 and later the national MusicOz competition.

Their 2001 EP Threedoublefivesix paid tribute to Eaglehawk's postcode, 3556. Renaming themselves SENDER in 2003, they signed with Sony Music Australia and released the single "You're On Fire", which charted on the ARIA Singles Chart and expanded their national reach. Over the following years they toured extensively and supported acts such as The Screaming Jetts, Hoobastank, Killing Heidi and Birds Of Tokyo.

After stepping back from regular live shows in the mid 2010's, the band returns to the Golden Vine Hotel for a special one-off reunion. The night features an extended career-spanning set, including songs performed by the original Zenyth four-piece line up with Nathan Schifferie, before expanding into a never-before-seen live five-piece version of SENDER.

Supporting the show is Kid Sapien, a Bendigo art-rock and space-folk project whose creator previously fronted Grand Perceptor, a local cult band known for its left-of-centre songwriting and DIY spirit.

Celebrate Australia Day Weekend with a night if nostalgia, loud guitar and a rare chance to see Sender back on stage.
