Event description

Family History - Where Do I Start?

Family history can seem complicated and it can be difficult to get started.

This session will provide an overview of the resources available through Liverpool City Library, both online and in the Family History Centre.

Facilitated by Liverpool City Library's eServices Librarian, Stephanie will be available after the presentation to help with a practical session on how to get started using the Library's databases.

Learn how to use Amplify?

What is Amplify?  Amplify is a platform designed to make available audio collections from the archives of cultural institutions across New South Wales. These oral histories, many of which have been digitally preserved from their original format, are made available online along with machine-generated transcripts. These transcripts can be edited by any user to improve their accuracy and ultimately enrich important historical and cultural documents.

In this session, Liverpool City Library's Local Studies Officer, Leonie, will guide you through the Amplify program and how you can help capture the stories connected to Liverpool.

Light refreshments will be provided.
