Seniors Festival 2026: StrokeSafe Information Session
Description
StrokeSafe Speakers are volunteers trained in public speaking and experienced in delivering life‑saving messages about stroke. Many have lived experience of stroke or a strong passion for educating their community. While they present information about stroke, they also draw on their own personal experiences - every talk is unique and memorable.During the session, Speakers cover:
What stroke is - What happens when someone is having a stroke and the different types of stroke.
How to recognise the signs of stroke - Learn the vital F.A.S.T. signs of stroke.
What to do during a stroke emergency - Knowing when to call triple zero (000).
How to reduce your risk of stroke - Understand and reduce the risk of stroke.
Low involves minimal walking to and within the activity and mostly flat ground. There is always an alternate option to sit somewhere.
Stairs: The activity includes a venue that may have steps to access some parts.
