Seniors Rights Service Talk
Newtown Wellness Centre
Newtown NSW, Australia
Description
Seniors Rights Service is a community organisation dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of older people in New South Wales.
A large part of their community work involves forums on the abuse of older Australians, with particular focus on financial and psychological abuse by family members. Much of this work centres on raising awareness of this issue, reducing the stigma and shame around abuse and gaining trust so people are more likely to disclose abuse and know where to seek help. This talk will focus on financial and advocacy services available for members from the Seniors Rights Service.
The session will finish with time for a Q+A, and time for tea and coffee.
