Seniors Week Health Talk: Understanding Meningitis
Description
Join Stirling Libraries – Osborne this Seniors Week for an important and potentially lifesaving community health talk on meningitis.
Meningitis is a fast acting and potentially deadly disease that can take a life in less than 24 hours and 1 in 4 survivors are left with permanent disabilities. While anyone can contract meningitis, adults aged 65 and over are among those most at risk.
As we celebrate Seniors Week, a time to recognise, connect with and support older Australians in leading healthy, informed and active lives, this session offers valuable information to help protect yourself, your family and your community.
Learn about the signs and symptoms of meningitis, who is at risk, prevention strategies and why early action can make all the difference. Attendees will also receive a take home signs and symptoms fridge magnet and other important resources to help spread awareness.
