Sense of Place with Peta Lloyd
Event description
Sense of Place with Peta Lloyd
Dry point Printing + Artists Books + Mark Making
Everyone loves an intriguing story, a narrative of your own creating. Enjoy transforming textile surfaces, paper and fabrics with your own unique symbols and marks using acrylic paints, drawing and printmaking inks, crayons, and oil pastels. Create handmade brushes which will be used to make a variety of marks with drawing inks. Explore dry point and Tetra Pak etchings to create prints, make a simple printing block to use as a stamp on paper and textiles and learn the
Japanese method of ‘momigami’ to create a fabric like material from magazine pages.
Finally, combine your printed papers and textiles to create a unique artist’s book.
Hand stitching, collage and found objects may be incorporated within your artist’s book.
An integral part of this workshop will be to explore the narratives and sense of place within your works, whether this be a real, imagined or emotional place.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and more advanced printmakers.
