Sensing: An Embodiment & Relating Workshop
Description
SENSING: AN EMBODIMENT & RELATING WORKSHOP
Open, closed. Expanded, contracted. Light, heavy.
How do we sense what we are feeling? How do we know what we need in a moment? How do we catch a sensation in the body, harvest its information, and act on it with ease?
This workshop invites us to explore the art of self-attunement in the company of others.
We’ll work with solo, partnered, and group exercises to explore human connections from a place of bodily awareness – what are our inner messages and where are our outer edges?
There may be stretching, shaking, rolling, bouncing, witnessing, talking, listening, conversing, and more. (Touch is involved only if you and your partner consent.)
All exercises are optional. There will be a space in the room to self- or co-regulate if you need it. Everyone is welcome; come, if you can, with a curious mind and an open heart.
It's a small space, so spots are limited.

Self-care
These kinds of gatherings where we drop into our bodies and connect deeply with others can often bring our feelings to the surface. It is good to be prepared for this, and to have some supportive practices of your own to nourish yourself before and after. I recommend you come early so you can settle into the space and start to meet yourself as you are in that moment. I will be around afterwards for any mini integrating chats you might need :)
If there is anything you would like me to know about you that might help you feel supported while participating in this workshop – you can leave a comment when prompted on the page after checkout.

Margery Ai
I am a movement-enthusiast and space-holder from Sydney, working and playing in the fields of yoga, dance, counselling, writing, and literature. When it comes to formal study (what I know), I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Bachelor of Law from the University of Sydney, and I’m currently completing a Master’s in Psychotherapy and Counselling – trauma-informed, relationally-focused – at Western Sydney University. My deeper learning, though (how to be) comes from the practices of noticing what I'm thinking and believing, feeling my feelings, expressing myself through nonviolent communication, and facing my most noblest challenge: accepting this present moment just as it is.
