Sensory Balls Workshop
Description
Join this free creative school holiday workshop and learn simple embroidery stitches while crafting your own soft, tactile Sensory Ball to treasure, hold and enjoy. Hosted by talented textile artist Aukje Boonstra in collaboration with Rethink Waste Tasmania - you’ll learn fun ways to get creative and reduce waste!
Come along for the day or just pop-in to say hello. We will have some equipment available for use. Participants are encouraged to bring along fabric scraps, odd socks, or any item that you would feel good to transform!
Please note: This is a supervised activity, not a drop-off session. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who is expected to remain for the duration of their attendance.
This venue is wheelchair accessible.
ReThink Waste Tasmania is a statewide waste education initiative provided through a collaborative partnership between Tasmania’s three regional waste bodies - TasWaste South, Cradle Coast Waste Management Group and Circular North. It is supported by the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board, which is funded by the Tasmanian Government.
ReThink Waste Tasmania acknowledges Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional owners of the lands we learn on and pays respects to Elders past and present. We acknowledge the continued connection to Land, Water, and Sky Country and the cultural practices which have kept Country healthy for thousands of years.
