Sensory Jam

We are so excited to welcome you to a sensory jam!

Sensation play is a class of activities meant to impart physical sensations. Commonly practiced sensation play could include electroplay, wax play, body painting, sensory deprivation such as mummification, temperature play and massage. 

A sensory jam, (like a rope jam or other types of 'jams') is a space to hang out with sensory play people, practice our skills and play in a community setting. Sensory play is a beautiful way to connect with our own bodies, our friends and partners. Each of our jams includes an optional mini-workshop for those wanting to dip their toe into a particular area.

It takes time to develop kink knowledge and skills, and it’s safer when we can look out for each other, so a sensory jam is a chance to hang out, learn and have fun. If you are curious about sensory play and would like to meet other people, ask questions, and see some scenes, come along!

You don't have to have any experience with BDSM, kink or sensation play to come along. This is the perfect space to learn about safety, scene navigation, what to look for in a play partners etc. so that your future experiences are positive.

Attendees are responsible for their own equipment and should check to ensure it is in safe, working order before you attend the jam.  


Costs and Times

Entry is $10 per person and open to all sensation play enthusiasts. Doors open at 6pm and we’ll finish at 10pm. The entry fee is to cover hall hire and insurance for the evening.

There is an optional workshop available for $10.

Body Painting mini-workshop

From 6:30pm, Carly will be facilitating a mini-workshop into body painting for an addition $10 fee. Paints and brushes will be supplied.

What to wear

Whatever you feel comfortable doing sensory play in. Please note that full nudity cannot occur in this setting. Genitals must be covered at all times. 

Notes and requirements.

• We are bound by insurance restrictions in that no genital or sex play can occur within this venue.
• Wax play (and any other messy play can only occur with drop sheets, and all used disposable dropsheets are to be disposed of off site.
• Risk Aware Consensual Kink (RACK) is the order of the day. Safety should be a first and foremost concern.
• Be aware and respect the boundaries of yourself and others. 
• The venue is used by a number of other groups. Please ensure you clean as you go and leave the space in the same condition we started in.
  
  
  

The Space

Located at the Ashtanga Yoga Studio in Newcastle West, the room features wide, open spaces for play. The space is on the top floor so we can be ourselves without vanillas wandering by.

What to bring

Yourself! Equipment and supplies such as wax, or electro kits etc. if you have them.
