Sensory Nature Play by the Murray
Event description
Sensory Nature Play's intention is to inspire you and your family to explore your natural environment around the home and place where you live. We hope to show you that there is much to see and wonder in nature in your community that is close to home. Taking your children out in nature helps to build a care and connection to the flora and fauna that is close to and a part of their home if we show them how to look with our 'nature glasses'.
We have put together a little video to give you a snapshot of the essence of us at P.L.A.Y. With A Purpose and Sensory Nature Play by the Murray!
We are delighted to be a part of the Nature Festival this year and the theme is 'the nature of home'. We bring you a little taste of living in and around the Murray River and hosting this event for children and their families to enjoy in the South Australia school holidays and connecting with the beautiful Ngarrindjeri country on which we work and live.
We will have a delightful range of sensory experiences using mostly natural resources that are in and around the home or the Murray area to explore with joy and delight with your child.
It is World Mental Health Day on the 10th October and it is our hope that in being in and connected to Nature we can indeed show our children that nature helps aid and support our mental health and wellbeing whether it is in our back yard, sitting in the sunshine, doing yoga, walking along the river, sitting at the river, touching nature will heal and help our wellbeing.
As an added bonus we will be providing complimentary tea, coffee, water, plus cake and morning tea for the kiddos.
