Sentimental Stories We Carry: An evening of storytelling

You are warmly invited to an evening of sharing sentimental stories inspired by an ordinary wonder, accompanied by an object, photograph, or song of your choice.

Objects, photographs, and melodies have a remarkable way of holding memories. They remind us of people we love, places that have shaped us, and moments that continue to live with us. They carry stories woven into our lives and quietly become part of who we are.

Hosted by local artist and Hikitia! Communications and Engagement Lead Karolina Gorton, this relaxed and welcoming evening will unfold at a gentle pace through stories, music, and shared reflection. There will be opportunities to listen, reminisce, and, if you wish, share a treasured memory of your own. Whether you bring a keepsake, a favourite photograph, a meaningful song, or simply come to enjoy the stories of others, you are warmly welcome.

Together, we'll celebrate the ordinary moments that become life's lasting treasures and create a shared landscape of memories that remind us of what matters most.

Tea and homemade baking will be shared throughout the evening, offering a cosy and meaningful way to connect alongside our stories.

Suitable for all ages. Under 13 years to be accompanied by a caregiver or parent.

Ordinary Wonders includes a five-week programme of FREE workshops, performances, conversations, film screenings, and creative activities designed to celebrate connection, belonging, and the memories that shape our lives.

All events are FREE, but registration is encouraged, with limited places available for some workshops.
