Movement - Expression- Connection- Reverence

Join us for our first Downtemple & Cacao of the season with special guests- Nahual! Nahual (Javier & Jami) visit us from the Central Coast where they reside. "The Nahual (Naa-waal) is a powerful animal spirit rooted in Mesoamerican beliefs and traditions. They are revered protectors, healers and guardians of nature." This duo channels the energy of these protectors, along with "divine frequencies to shapeshift with Great Mystery. "

We will start with Cacao and a guided warm-up, lead into a short downtempo wave with myself (Presencia) and continue into a second dance wave with Nahual, bringing their live vocals, looping, and instruments and pure ceremonial magick. Nauhal will wind us down with a deep, rootsy, of-the-earth sound healing to close the night.

About This Event:
This event is a ritual of connection, Cacao, guided movement, and free-form dance medicine in a downtempo-esque container. The pace is slower...like a steady burning flame, inviting us to drop deeper into presence with every delicious movement. Note: The music is not strictly downtempo... it is downtempo-esque. Inspired by a slower pace but does still follow a journey. BPM typically does not go above 95.

About the Cacao:
Cacao is a delicious, heart-opening medicine with indigenous roots all over the world. Drinking cacao in ceremony where one is invited to connect with the spirit of cacao and invite it into the heart space can bring profound healing experiences, especially when combined with movement such as dance. Cacao is just one more way to infuse Love into your dance!

Raices from the heart of Guatemala... Raíces Maya Cacao is born from the heart of Patulul, Suchitepéquez, Guatemala—a land rich in history, culture, and tradition. Our cacao’s origins are deeply intertwined with the heritage of our ancestors, passed down from generation to generation since the time of our great-grandparents. It is more than just a product; it is a living connection to our Mayan roots.
Our cacao trees grow in harmony with nature, surrounded by fruit trees such as banana, mango, sapodilla, star apple, mandarin, and coconut—a setting that enriches the ecosystem and imparts unique nuances to every single bean.

The flavor of Raíces Maya Cacao is exquisite, magical, and smooth—an experience that transports the taster to the very essence of tradition and nature. With Raíces Maya Cacao, we share with the world not only high-quality cacao but also a story of identity, culture, and Guatemalan pride.
