September School Holiday Workshops

This school holidays Filmbites is excited to be running workshops in our Malaga studio as well as in Kwinana! Our Makeup SFX workshop is also returning to Filmbites. 

Please check your workshops location before booking.

Makeup SFX Workshop - Tuesday 26th of September - 11am - 1pm (Ages 9 -14) 6/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga

Learn from our professional Makeup SFX artist Stephanie Davis in our Burns & Bruises workshop. Get your hands dirty with fake blood, latex and paper mache this school holidays!

Green Screen Workshop - Wednesday 27th of September - 10am - 3pm (Ages 10 - 15) 6/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga

Be a part of both the crew and cast by devising and filming short scenes in Filmbites’ very own green screen studio. Then, head into the computer lab to learn, hands-on, how to add your very own special effects from industry professionals.

Junior Screen Acting Workshop (5 hours) - Thursday 28th of September - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 -12)  6/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga

Learn the difference between stage and screen acting, as well as the fundamentals of what it’s like acting to camera. This workshop is a fun introduction to the craft of screen acting.

Junior Screen Acting Workshop (5 hours) - Friday 29th of September - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 -12)  John Wellard Community Centre (Runnymede Gate, Wellard)

Our 5 hour introduction to screen acting workshop will also be offered at the John Wellard Community Centre. Learn the difference between stage and screen acting, as well as the fundamentals of what it’s like acting to camera.

Game Design Workshop - Monday 2nd of October - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 - 12) 6/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga

Why just play games when you can learn how to make them. In this workshop you’ll learn how to make 3 different types of games, using Gamemaker software, then get to play each others games. Super fun day for gamers!

Doors open 9:45am, Doors close 1:15pm. Max 6 spots *More allowed if able to bring own laptop in.


2D Animation Workshop - Tuesday 3rd of October - 10am - 3pm (Ages 8 - 12) 6/31 Oxleigh Drive, Malaga

Learn the interface and navigation for Tahoma, a free software you can learn to use to create super fun animations. This is an exceptional skill to learn if you ever wish to work in the growing entertainment, content creation and resources industries.

Short Stuff Acting Workshop - Wednesday 4th of October - 10am - 11am  (Ages 7 - 8) John Wellard Community Centre (Runnymede Gate, Wellard)

Let your little ones roam wild with imagination in our Short Stuff workshop. Discover movement and sound in acting through being animals and exploring the jungle in a guided scene.

Create, act and film your own scene in this two hour introduction to screen acting workshop. Learn the difference between stage and screen acting, as well as the fundamentals of what it’s like acting to camera.
