Andrew Blanch: Spanish Romance
Featuring Maria Eugenia Nieva
Australian guitarist Andrew Blanch has been delighting audiences around the world from Europe, to South America and Australia, where he’s among the most highly regarded musicians of his generation. Blanch’s impressive CV features numerous first prizes in international guitar competitions, ARIA chart-topping albums, and critically-acclaimed performances selling out venues from the Sydney Opera House to the Melbourne Recital Centre.
“Five stars for a unique offering... Five stars for outstanding performance... Five stars for style and class.”
- Sydney Arts Guide
Ready to take on the world, Blanch is playing his final concerts in Australia before embarking on a groundbreaking 45-concert tour across the United States, kicking off at Seattle Town Hall in August and ending up in Miami in December. ‘The Spanish Guitar’ is everything you would expect from one of Australia’s leading virtuosos – soulful and emotional melodies, technical pyrotechnics, and a celebration of the multitude of distinct cultures the Spanish guitar calls home.
The show concludes in Argentina, where Andrew is joined on stage by the effervescent Maria Eugenia Nieva, an Argentinian mezzo-soprano highly-regarded for her beautiful and rich voice, for a moving and authentic presentation of Argentinian folk songs.
