Event description

The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) would like to invite you to attend a Serenity Symposium - Respite Ministry Event!

This event aims to connect faith leaders from around the state with information about respite ministries and ways to support people with disabilities through their faith communities.

Why Attend the Serenity Symposium?
Respite is consistently identified as the most pressing need facing the disability community. Respite services provide short term relief for parents and caregivers of those with disabilities so they can rest, run errands, have a date night, or spend time with family and friends. This event will address how faith communities around Tennessee can help fill that critical need, and how churches have established respite ministries (both large scale and small scale) to benefit their communities.

Funding Opportunities Available
During the Serenity Symposium, DIDD will be unveiling a grant program designed to support faith communities in establishing or expanding respite ministries across the state. We will be discussing the grant program and application process and be available to answer any questions faith leaders may have.

Lunch will be provided to those in attendance. Check out the event website here for an overview of the speakers and an agenda.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, April 10.
