Event description

This is a Project Helping Volunteer Experience in partnership with Denver Rescue Mission

Minimum Age: 10+, children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian

Agenda:

4:45-4:50 - Welcome and Check-In

4:50-5:15 - Safety Overview and Assignments

5:15-7:00 - Serve Dinner

700 - 7:15 - Clean Up and Thank You

What We Will Do:

Project Helping volunteers will serve a meal to the men, women, and children at The Crossing, a transitional facility that houses the STAR Transitional Program and the New Life Program for Denver Rescue Mission.

What to Bring:

*All volunteers must be vaccinated in order to participate at this event. If you are not vaccinated, please consider another event as we work closely with at-risk communities during this experience*

A mask

Clothes you don't mind getting dirty

Closed-toe shoes

A hat (if you wear one, you do not need to wear a hairnet!)

Where to Park:

There is free parking near the main entrance on Smith Road and also along the east and west sides of the building.

Where to Meet:

Meet inside the main entrance on Smith Road.

Check in with your Project Helping Kynd Leader when you arrive. They will be wearing a bright lime green shirt, and will stick with you during the entire experience to make sure you have a blast!

About the organization:

The Crossing is Denver Rescue Mission's largest location. It serves 130 New Life Program men and women and provides up to 100 rooms for families that are STAR transitional program participants.
