Fellow Cloudheads come and join us on Thursday 30th May for an evening featuring the always hot topics, serverless and the cloud! ☁️ Hosted by our friends at Prezzee, we'll be joined by the very talented Geshan Manandhar and Lovee Jain who will be discussing all things serverless. 

Talk 1: Serverlessing like a pro.
Discover the magic of serverless as you learn about building and deploying serverless functions that automatically scale, trigger instantly, and vanish when idle. We'll explore real-world use cases, live-code your first function, learn what's beyond just functions and see event-driven architecture in action.

Talk 2: You build it, Google runs it (serverlessly) in containers.
Focus on your application’s features by running and scaling out containers in a serverless way, managed by Google. Scaling to billions of users is something Google knows very well. You don’t need to know Kubernetes to scale applications on the cloud. Learn how to operate containers on Cloud Run to propel your company ahead even without a DevOps engineer. In this session, we’ll explore other GCP services like Cloud Build, and Cloud Logging to help you achieve business goals. ​​You’ll gain practical knowledge and useful tips on running most workloads on serverless containers that can scale to zero when there is no traffic.

The Speakers:

Lovee Jain 🙋
Lovee is a Senior Software Engineer at Prezzee, a GDG Melbourne Organiser and also a Women Techmakers Ambassador. A tech inquisitive philomath, she loves problem solving and solution design. She has worked at a city council where she developed a lot of useful system integrations and while at Prezzee she develops and works on multiple gift card solutions to cater the B2B2C market.

Geshan Manandhar 🙋
Geshan is a seasoned software engineer, with over 15 years of software engineering experience. Currently, in Sydney, Australia serving Simply Wall St. as a senior software engineer. He prioritizes business value over language or framework choices, showcasing his language-agnostic approach. He has spoken at tech conferences in multiple countries. Actively involved with the developer community, he is a Google Developer Expert (GDE) for the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a GDG organizer too.
