SET Registrars Teaching Day: Melanoma

Join us for an engaging educational training day designed for dermatology and plastics registrars.

Hosted by Melanoma Institute Australia in collaboration with the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, this is a unique opportunity for registrars to hear from multidisciplinary experts on our latest understanding of melanoma and complex skin cancer across the disease spectrum. In addition to engaging presentations, the day will also feature panel discussions on challenging cases and a hands-on workshop.

MORNING PROGRAM

  • Diagnosis of high-risk patients - A/Prof Linda Martin (Dermatologist)
  • The melanoma pathology report - Dr Robert Rawson (Pathologist)
  • Confocal microscopy - Dr Christoph Sinz (Dermatologist)
  • Surgical margins, ideal biopsy and sentinel node biopsy in melanoma - Dr Thomas Pennington (Surgical Oncologist)
  • Head and neck sentinel node biopsy - A/Prof Sydney Ch'ng (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon)
  • Management of in transit melanoma and oligometastatic disease - A/Prof Robyn Saw (Surgical Oncologist)
  • Surgical management of lentigo maligna - Prof Jonathan Stretch AM (Plastic Surgeon)

AFTERNOON PROGRAM

  • Management of acral and subungual melanoma - Dr David Stewart (Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon)
  • Surgical management of Merkel cell carcinoma - A/Prof Alexander van Akkooi (Surgical Oncologist)
  • The current role of radiotherapy in melanoma management - Prof Angela Hong (Radiation Oncologist)
  • Systemic therapies for surgeons - Dr Anne Zaremba (Medical Oncology Fellow)
  • Essential medical photography: Workshop - Stephanie Friedlander (Melanographer)

Cost: $125 (inc GST)

CPD: A Certificate of Attendance will be provided.
