Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Redeemer Lutheran College presents Seven Brides for Seven Brothers | It’s musical season at Redeemer and there's a buzz of excitement and anticipation on campus as students across the Senior School engage in this epic community event. More than 155 students are involved in producing the musical, including 55 Fashion and Textile students sewing costumes, 20 Construction students building and painting sets, 20 Music students playing in the pit orchestra and the 60 strong cast representing students from Years 7 to 12. 

Based on the 1954 film by the same name, the stage adaptation was first produced in 1979, and more recently released an updated stage version in 2007. The stage play does differ from the film and features some beautiful songs to enhance the story. The old favourite songs of “Wonderful Day”, and “Spring, Spring, Spring” are still featured in the stage play alongside the iconic ‘Challenge Dance’. The dance, which sees the Seven Brothers try to steal away the prettiest girls from their suitors, is a complex and intricate 5-minute routine.  It is bound to be a showstopper!
