Seven Deadly Sins - Gluttony
Description
The Seven Deadly Sins Portrait Workshop Series
The Seven Deadly Sins Portrait Series is a unique seven-part photography workshop program that explores emotion, storytelling, lighting, styling, and creative portraiture through the lens of the classic Seven Deadly Sins. Each workshop focuses on a different sin, using it as a concept to explore how colour, wardrobe, lighting, props, and expression can communicate powerful ideas. Every workshop includes a pre-workshop online planning session, a hands-on studio shoot, and a post-production review session, allowing participants to follow the complete creative process from concept development through to finished image.
Gluttony – Indulgence & Excess
Gluttony explores the art of creating playful, colourful, and visually indulgent portraits. Surrounded by an abundance of decadent treats and retro-inspired details, this workshop focuses on using props, expression, posing, colour, and composition to communicate temptation and excess. Rather than simply filling the frame with food, we'll explore how the model can interact with the environment to create images that tell a story, moving from subtle indulgence to exaggerated, over-the-top excess while maintaining the fun and sophistication of classic pinup photography.
There is an online preproduction planning session on the Monday evening (7–8pm) where we will go through the planning process and discuss how we can use the various tools we have to develop the concept, organise our ideas, and streamline the shooting process to capture great images. On the Friday evening, we have a 90-minute post-production session where we look at how to polish our images to their best and create a coherent image set.
Designed for photographers looking to expand both their technical and creative skills, the series offers seven distinct themes, seven unique visual styles, and countless opportunities to create striking portfolio-worthy images.
