Event description

Get Ready for Fall Baking! Whether your idea of a perfect Fall is filling your home with pumpkin spice everything, or acting as grill master during football tailgates, come join us to make a custom apron to wear during your fall festivities!

This project is perfect for those with basic sewing skills looking to expand their crafting repertoire. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, you'll discover tips and techniques for creating a beautifully functional apron that’s perfect for cooking, crafting, or any creative endeavor.

Our pattern is scalable to size and will have three different pocket and tie options to help make your apron unique! Join fellow sewing enthusiasts in a supportive environment and leave with a beautiful apron that showcases your newfound skills!

What You'll Learn:

  • Tips to make your sewing process easier and faster
  • Tips for finishing edges and adding personal touches
  • Creative ways to customize your apron with pockets and embellishments

This workshop is appropriate for ages 11+ only. Minors do not have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the workshop. Adults must come inside to drop their minor off with the workshop instructor. Drop off begins 10 minutes before the scheduled start time, and everyone must be picked up at the scheduled end of the workshop.

This is primarily a BYOM (Bring Your Own Machine) workshop and limited sewing machines are available. Available sewing machines can be reserved by purchasing a 'Borrow a Machine' ticket. Participants who purchase a BYOM ticket will need to bring a standard sewing machine and all necessary machine accessories to participate (pedal, power cord, bobbin, machine needle).

About the Instructor

Jill is a lifelong creator and teacher. She started sewing in the 3rd grade as a 4Her, going on to earn a degree in retail management, advanced sewing and construction at Purdue University. Prior to moving to Austin, she ran a drapery workroom where she designed and sewed custom drapery and interior products for designers and private clients.

Jill also enjoys painting, gardening and crochet. Sewing and reuse were integral parts of her life growing up in Indiana, and she looks forward to guiding fun workshops to creatively up-cycle fabric from Austin Creative Reuse!
