Why learn to sew with Madelyn Jane?

Madelyn designed this workshop so you can easily learn the basics of sewing, and some handy tricks so you can mend and alter your own clothes. Grab your friends, your neglected clothes and come along for a fun, useful workshop that will kikcstart your weekend vibes! 🤩

Learn to:

• 👖Take your jeans up

• 👗Turn a maxi dress into a mini

• 🪡Replace missing buttons/hook and eyes

• 👩‍💻Blind hand stitch your fancy work pants

• 💃Repair small holes so you can continue to wear the clothes you love!

What to bring:

• Your clothes to alter

• Matching thread

• Your fallen buttons (we will have some replacments you can use if you need)!

If you have your own sewing machine, bring it along so you can learn on it and take those skills home with you.

If you don't own a sewing machine, don't worry - we have the option to hire one of ours for the workshop OR you can choose to just learn by hand (please note denim alterations and large hems are available only on machines).

How much does an alteration usually cost?

Sewing workshops can be very expensive - we want to make it super accessible to learn basic alteration skills so you can repair your own clothes. It costs around $40 to get a standard pair of pants hemmed - why pay that when you can learn with Madelyn Jane and have the skills for life instead (girl math 💁‍♀️💅)!
