Sew Your Own Undies Workshop

Next Underwear Class: Sew Your Own Undies: Bikini/"Hipster" Style • Tuesday, October 17th, 5-9pm • $45 • 14+

In this class, students who have prior experience using a sewing machine will dive into making their own undergarments. Our awesome instructor Maya will walk students through how to take great measurements, and pattern, cut, and construct their own custom underwear in the basic hip-hugging styles known as the "bikini" and the "hipster" (see below guide on underwear styles). (The "hipster" is the basic design we'll take measurements to make for; students may choose to customize the fit to become the bikini, the cheeky, or the tanga). Students will walk away with a new pair of undies, and the skills to keep making this wardrobe essential!

This workshop will run 4 hours; there will be a 15-minute break at the two-hour mark to stretch and re-energize! Note: we do not allow food in the education studio, but drink containers with sealed lids are permitted!

All tools and materials provided. Sewists are welcome to bring their own machines.

Prerequisite: Sewing Basics I & II or equivalent knowledge/experience (e.g., familiarity with straight stitch and zig zag stitch, how to thread a machine's top thread and insert a bobbin, how to wind a bobbin, how to work through basic troubleshooting on jams, etc). Experience with stretch fabric not required, but encouraged. Ages 14+.
