Description

Sow Good x Samook: Make Your Own Linen Top

Join Kim Goodworth, founder of slow-fashion label Samook Designs, for a hands-on sewing workshop at Sow Good Studio.

Course fee covers two 3-hour sessions, where you’ll make your own 100% linen top from a pattern created by Kim specifically for Sow Good. Choose between a short or long sleeve design and learn quality garment construction techniques that you can continue practicing at home.

Kim has been designing and making timeless, wearable garments since 2012, with a focus on thoughtful design, quality construction and slow fashion.

What’s included

A hand-drafted paper pattern
Take your pattern home and use it again to make more tops for yourself, friends and family. The pattern is designed to use the full width of the fabric, creating minimal waste.

Quality 100% linen
Choose from a selection of linen colours. The fabric has a transparent supply chain, with yarn made from longline flax fibres in Normandy, France.

Sewing machines & equipment
All sewing machines and equipment needed for the workshop are provided, so you can simply come along and sew.

Sewing skills & techniques
Across the two sessions, Kim will guide you through garment construction techniques including flat-felled seams, French seams and bound edges.

Your finished linen top
Create a timeless, comfortable garment designed to soften and mould to your body over time. Linen is durable, easy to care for and can be repaired and loved for years.

A list of quality linen stockists
Take home Kim’s recommended fabric stockists so you know where to find quality linen for your future sewing projects.

A little about slow fashion

We all wear clothes, so we all have the power to make a positive change socially and environmentally. Slow fashion can mean buying second-hand, supporting local designers, repairing or refashioning what you already own, or learning to make your own clothes.
