Sewing classes

Weekly sewing classes that will teach you the basics of how to sew, using a domestic sewing machine.

Each class will consist of 4 people. Together, we will work to build your understanding and confidence in sewing and construction. These classes will be tailored towards you, working at your desired pace and outcomes.

Whether you are a complete beginner who wants to start from scratch, want to mend or embellish a garment you love, or you have a new project you’re eager to embark on, these classes will be a flexible ‘co-workshop’ environment, with individual mentoring on your specific sewing pursuits.

Throughout these lessons, I'll use demonstrations to teach you how to sew specific things. These can be welt pockets, button holes, zips etc. You'll gain an understanding of the different types of sewing needles and threads, and how to work with different fabrics.

I'll also share my own tips and tricks on using up-cycled and repurposed materials, and techniques for repairing clothes.

Keep in mind:

• Sewing takes time, so it may take a few sessions to finish a project.
• Mistakes are part of the process, it’s okay!

If you have your own sewing machine you'd like to bring to learn on, that’s encouraged! If not, I have enough sewing machines for everyone to use.
