As part of the Mernda Repair Cafe program Mernda Community House will be offering free workshops to the community on Repairing and Sustainability skills.
This October NEIL STOKES our local SEWING MACHINE REPAIRER will be teaching a workshop on maintaining your sewing machine.
The workshop will be held at Mernda Community House on Saturday 8th October 2022, starting at 10am til 12pm.
This course, I will cover a general range of machines, however this does not include Electronic Machines or Overlockers.
Workshop Outline:
1. Needle range and size
2. How to remove needle plate and clean the bobbin case
3. How to set the top and bottom tensions
4. Suitable threads for machine and how these will affect performance of machine
5. Check machine to ensure threads are not caught in the Machine
PLEASE NOTE: He has asked for students to bring their own machines in on the day and to prepare questions about repair or maintenance to the class.
