Want to treat your sweetie to a fun toy for the holidays but not sure where to start? Join Lotus Blooms Sex Educator Jay Sheffield to learn about:

What questions to ask your partner ahead of time to have a better understanding of what they like
How preferences in sex can inform preferences in toys
How to choose a toy that’s more likely to increase pleasure for a partner’s body specifically
Toys that allow both people get pleasure from the same toy
New toys on the market
New uses for existing toys
New ways to think about toys & communication about them
How to use those toys on partner(s)

Discover new ways to enjoy full-body foreplay, the joy of sex with the added sensations that toys can bring, and more. You’ll learn various ways to use each toy as Jay covers the anatomy of pleasure, toy materials, maintenance, and other considerations so you’ll be sure to get the best “bang” for your buck and not waste money on a toy that’s less likely to work for a partner's body.

Bring your sweetie with you if you want the chance to talk about preferences and interests in real time and explore possibilities together!

Join us after the workshop for shopping, and put your new-found knowledge to work to find the perfect toy(s) with a 15% off workshop discount!

What to expect from this workshop:
This is an educational and experiential class, but it is not a sexual or skills-practice class. Folks will have the opportunity to touch toys, lubes and harnesses. The focus of the content will be on learning about anatomy, pleasure, techniques, toys, and communication tips for navigating sex play with toys. Participants will be able to opt in and out of any exercises or offerings.

Also, since this workshop is held at Lotus Blooms, there will be a smaller number of attendees (around 12 vs. our other workshops that tend to have closer to 30 people at each). This is great if you feel like you'll be more comfortable and learn easier in smaller settings.

Who is this workshop for:
Anyone interested in buying a toy for their partner (of any gender and with any genitals!) Jay will be discussing toys that are great for both straight and queer sex. You may attend solo or bring your partner(s), date, or friend(s)! Our workshops are not play spaces, nor are they meetups. If you are looking for local groups that host such events, we are happy to recommend them. Workshop tickets are sold individually, and each person attending will need a ticket.

The Fine Print: Lotus Blooms’ workshops are open to people of all genders and sexual orientations, individuals, couples, or groups. Due to state law, attendees must be over 18 to come to the workshops or shop in the store. Workshops generally run about 60-90 minutes plus time for Q&A. Afterwards, attendees can shop Lotus Blooms with a 15% discount for the remainder of the time.

If you are running late:
Because the topics of sex, sexuality, intimacy, etc are so personal and often taboo in our society, our staff and educators work very hard to create events that make people feel comfortable learning and sharing. Much of the working agreements and standards of behavior tend to take place at the beginning of our short workshops. As such, if you arrive more than 15 minutes after the workshop is scheduled to begin, we will not be able to allow you to join this time around and your tickets will be forfeited. We hope that this helps to encourage people to come on time and enjoy the entirety of the event, and create a comfortable space for everyone attending!
