Join us online for our Annual General Meeting. You can hear about the year's work, meet the board, and have your say in how SGQ is governed.

We will also hear from a special guest speaker Renee King from Welcoming Australia, who will share about Welcoming Clubs, volunteer-led groups building welcome and engagement in their communities. Learn & reflect on how to make peer support groups welcoming, with connection as a foundation for wellbeing.

Hope to see you online!

Our AGM Guest Speaker - Renee King was born in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and raised in the remote jungle communities of Kimbe and Popondetta. Culturally and linguistically, Renee is Motu Koitabu, with ancestral ties to Tubusereia Village in Central Province. These early experiences grounded her in community, culture, and collective responsibility, shaping a lifelong commitment to creating spaces where people feel connected, valued, and empowered.

Renee has a Master’s Degree in Development Practice (Community Development), with a strong track record of designing and delivering impactful, place-based initiatives across regional and remote LGAs. In the Atherton Tablelands, Renee strengthened her governance expertise by leading both a Youth Advisory Committee and an Inclusion Advisory Committee, supporting advocacy to government on regional priorities in the youth and disability sectors. Most recently in the Western Downs, Renee has led the development of a community- and industry-led collective impact initiative, supported by government, focused on long-term, evidence-based outcomes.

Bringing people together around shared purpose, and nurturing small groups of aligned changemakers, is the work Renee continues to refine, guided by care, collaboration, and a deep respect for community-led solutions.
