Kismet Movies is excited to bring SHACKLETON: THE GREATEST STORY OF SURVIVAL to Australian cinemas.

28 lost adventurers must fight for their lives after their only lifeline is destroyed in the most uninhabitable place on Earth – Antarctica. Shackleton: The Greatest Story of Survival reveals the true story of polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and the crew of the Endurance, told by the only man ever to have repeated their incredible feat - explorer and adventurer Tim Jarvis. Following in the beset crew’s footsteps, Tim reveals the enduring legacy of Shackleton’s crisis leadership in the face of impossible odds - a lesson more relevant to us now than ever before.

SPECIAL GUEST | TIM JARVIS, AM

Tim Jarvis is an environmental scientist, author, adventurer and public speaker who has repeated Shackleton's incredible Antarctica expedition.

Tim has worked in sustainability for 30 years including 9 years in a global sustainability role for engineering firm Arup, and as sustainability adviser to AusAID, the World Bank, the Murray Darling Basin Commission and Dept of Agriculture Fisheries and Food. He is also an environmental ambassador for numerous companies, including Patagonia and BGIS Property Group, and holds various honorary roles for conservation charity organisations including Vice-President of Fauna & Flora International and Global Ambassador and Governor of WWF. Tim has undertaken many expeditions to the world's most remote regions including the South Pole, the high Arctic, across Australia's largest desert and the Great Victoria.

In 2013, Tim led the first authentic retracing of polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton's "double" - sailing a replica James Caird boat 1500kms across the Southern Ocean from Elephant Island, Antarctica to South Georgia and climbing over South Georgia's mountainous interior using the same rudimentary equipment, period clothing and technology as Shackleton. Regarded by many as the greatest survival journey of all time, this is the first time sine Shackleton that anybody has been able to authentically recreate it.
