ShakesPeers - Unpacking Monologues
Event description
Boo! It’s October. This month’s ShakesPeers salon (presented in collaboration with Scorpio Theatre) is all about monologues—but not in the way you might think. This isn’t about performance; it’s about exploration.
Here’s what’s on the table:
Unpacking Monologues
Bring a prepared Shakespearean monologue or choose one on-site. (We’ll print out a bunch of the classics!) You’ll read it aloud, and together, we’ll dig into the text—the language, the given circumstances, the play around it. No critiques, no pressure, just the joy of nerding out over Shakespeare’s words.
Be a Reader or an Audience Member
Not ready to read? No worries! Sit back, listen, and join in the discussion.
Drinks & Snacks
We’ll be running a reasonably priced concession with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, plus snacks to fuel all that Shakespearean goodness.
When: October 5, 6:00–9:00 PM
Where: Scorpio Theatre Space (331 41 Ave NE)
Cost: Pay-What-You-Will
Limited Spots: Only 15 tickets available
This is a casual, community-focused gathering. It’s not an audition or a class—just a chance to connect, explore, and enjoy Shakespeare’s work in a welcoming space.
Reserve your spot today! (Note: If cost is prohibitive and you would still like to attend, please email us at fullcircletheatre.yyc@gmail.com)
