Relax and receive a restorative shamanic sound journey where you will be guided to explore different levels of conscious awareness that may not be obvious in day to day life.
The shamanic sound journey will begin with a myth based story drawing from astrological imagery. This will lead into an opportunity for you to drop into your own inner world, guided by Kāren Hunter's musical accompaniment. Kāren sings healing songs and prayers in several languages including; Te Reo Maori, Spanish and Portuguese. She also plays a wide variety of instruments including; frame drum, koshi bells, singing bowls, bells, guitar, mandolin, jaw harp, flute, kouauau and others.
Please bring a mat, blanket and pillow to make yourself comfortable.
ABOUT YOUR HOST
Kāren Hunter is a (Pākeha) New Zealander of Cornish, Irish and Scottish descent. She offers music to awaken humanity by creating soundscapes that draw from the deep well of collective spirit. She channels her musical messages straight from the heart through lyric, looper, guitar, voice, mandolin, drum, jaw harp and flute.
With over 40 years experience as a performer and songwriter, Kāren writes love songs to Papatūānuku / Mother Earth, Ranginui / Sky Father and all of their children.

Kāren holds a Masters of Music degree from the University of Auckland where she also taught on the Popular Music programme for several years. Kāren has also taught music privately and at M.A.I.N.Z Auckland campus ( Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand ). Kāren has also taught music in prison, youth clubs, community Arts festivals, music festivals, teachers training groups and facilitation courses to name a few.
