Wed, 18 Jun, 11am - 5pm AEST

Event description

Whistleblowers are essential to exposing wrongdoing, corruption, and harm across our institutions, workplaces and communities — but too often, the law fails to protect them for doing the right thing.

With a Senate inquiry underway into the Whistleblower Protection Authority Bill, and Treasury reviews into the Corporations Act and Tax Administration Act, this is a critical moment to demand stronger safeguards and lasting accountability.

Join Transparency International Australia, the Human Rights Law Centre, the Governance Institute, Griffith University and Whistleblower Justice Fund for a day of action - the National Whistleblowing Symposium on Wednesday 18 June, in Canberra.

Together, we’ll:

  • Launch the Final Principles for a Whistleblower Protection Authority — a blueprint for reform developed through broad national consultation

  • Hear from whistleblowers, integrity experts and oversight agencies

  • Workshop practical tools to support impactful submissions

Current speakers include:

  • Mr Andrew Wilkie, Independent Federal member for Clark

  • Deputy Commissioner Kylie Kilgour, National Anti-Corruption Commission

  • Rex Patrick, former Senator

If your work depends on truth-telling — whether it’s protecting people, places or democracy — whistleblower protections matter. This day is for you.
