This is your plan! Help us shape the next Youth Action Plan 2024-2027.

We're inviting you and other creative, thoughtful and purposeful young people to collaborate with the SA Government to bring the new SA Youth Action Plan to life.

Over the next four years this plan will help the state government to better meet the needs of young South Australians by delivering fairer and more equitable access to opportunities, resources and supports.

But we can’t do this without your help!

Join us for a young people's forum on Thursday 11 July to discuss and design what matters to you as a young person in South Australia.

What will happen at the forum (and where)

On Thursday 11 July at 1:30pm, we are bringing together a diverse group of over 80 young people at Carclew House to discuss the things that matter to them. Carclew is the 'home of youth arts and creativity' is on the parklands fringe in North Adelaide (and a special partner in this forum).

This event will have welcoming, fun spaces and activities for you to enjoy through the afternoon. After being Welcomed to Country by young Kaurna leaders, youth leaders and our steering committee will share some actions they have drafted to respond to the calls made by young people during the first consultation. You’ll then have the chance to respond and brainstorm ideas with us to influence what we do next.

These conversations will be hosted by young people and shared with Minister for Human Services, Nat Cook, who will have the opportunity to reflect and respond to what you have to say. Our whole afternoon will be designed and facilitated to ensure everyone feels welcome, engaged and connected.

The forum will also be captured by the talented audio-visual team at community broadcaster Channel 44. People under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to approve your image and audio by filling in and emailing the DHS Talent Release form.

We also have an after-party!

Stay on at Carclew for live music from brilliant First Nations singer songwriter Katie Aspel and delicious food platters from My Grandma Ben. This will be the perfect opportunity to connect with friends old and new for anyone who wants to linger around after formal forum session is over. Katie will perform for about an hour, after which you are welcome to head down Montefiore Road across the river for exclusive access to MOD.'s amazing exhibition, Broken.
