Shaping Up - Visualising the Future
Event description
Through playful and thought-provoking activities, you’ll engage with creative processes, shift perspectives, and discover how creative thinking can be applied in your work.
The international movement of creative bureaucracy has arrived in the Sunshine State. Join us for the opportunity to explore, experiment, and reimagine what creativity in the public service means to you.
Queensland is facing a multitude of wicked problems from natural disaster management and recovery resilience; planning for the international focus of the summer Olympics 2032 and the identity, legacy and hope that goes into major events; combined with the background of cost of living issues resulting in a widening housing crisis and increasing crime. Now more than ever public servants need to develop their creative thinking muscles and lead with agility.
Through playful and thought-provoking activities, you’ll engage with creative processes, shift perspectives, and discover how creative thinking can be applied in your work.
- Shaping your Thinking - Damian Vanderwolf (Public Sector Commission) will lead an interactive session using shapes as a tool for experimentation and play.
- Visualising Agility - Dr. Cathryn Lloyd (Maverick Minds) will spark curiosity and help shift your thinking.
- Networking Session - don’t run away - grab a coffee or other beverage and extend the conversation into what a creative public future can look like? Where can we head from here?
Most importantly, connect with fellow changemakers who see creativity as essential to public service.
Whether you're a policymaker, designer, or innovator, come ready to engage, experiment, and shape what’s next together.
We want this to be an inclusive and accessible event, so if cost (or anything else) is a barrier to attend, please let us know so we can find a way for you to join us
