Live Sound. Moving Bodies. Shared Fields II (two)

Round II – a Saturday afternoon in a unified 'Qi' (氣) field as Thalia facilitates Qi Gong movement to activate body energetics and Alec Ilyine responds with a sonic landscape in real time.

A call and response; the call from our bodies as they flow between forms, moving Qi (energy) through meridians, then out to each person’s individual field with a live sonic 'response'. The merging of electromagnetic vibration with sound frequency creates a shared field.

Thalia is a Qi Gong (chee goong) guide, trained by various Masters and currently studying Qi Gong Healing with Long White Cloud Qi Gong.

Qi Gong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine arm with roots in Daoist and Buddhist concepts and is a movement and breath-based practice. Deeply healing and harmonising, it uses three tools: awareness (mind), body and breath to work with ‘Qi’ (energy, prana, life-force). It’s energy-work for wellbeing and a healthy way to harmonise your system.

Qi Gong forms can be fast and activating, some gentle stretching, and others are slow-flowing or rhythmic in nature. Mostly a standing practice, no props or particular clothing required, just come as you are. All beginners and Qi Gong curious are welcome.

Alec is an Artist and Musician that uses electronics and field recordings to create experimental sonic landscapes that take an audience on a complex inner journey via fingerpicking compositions where improvisation is key. More here alecilyine.com https://alecilyine.bandcamp.com/
